The Four Pillars

The framework rests on four pillars:

  • Breath — deep, even, fine, long breathing is the root of everything.
  • Movement — gentle guiding movements to keep qi and blood flowing.
  • Stillness — seated stillness and watching the breath.
  • Nourishment — the daily rhythm of food, sleep, and routine.

The four support one another; later courses open each in turn.
